In the last couple weeks in life drawing we have worked on the feet and now the shoulders and biceps. I found that my drawings are becoming a bit more accurate, and I am glad that we are spending more class time doing drawings(preferably long poses) then working on the manikin. I found that the arms are difficult in the sense that they start in the chest which i never new, so the matter of finding the start of it usually takes awhile and I am not really sure that I had drawn the forms properly.

Midterm post
http://www.flickr.com/photos/organize/?start_tab=sets
For my midterm post I would like to comment about how much my drawing techniques have gotten better. Mostly I believe that the gestures that we do during almost every class helps out a lot, not just warming us up but also in helping us with different poses and forms. So far in the semester I believe that I have gotten much better at drawing proportions the right way and also worrying more about the forms then I ever did in drawing when I had worked mostly on perfecting light and shadows; which in the long run is much more important. I am hoping that with the rest of the semester everything will continue to improve in class in not just drawing but also building muscles on the manikin.

Introduction Post
Hello, my name is Sarah Benson, I grew up in LaCrosse Wisconsin. I had gone to Western Technical College for two years prior to coming to UW Stout. I am a Studio Art major with no emphasis yet, this being my second year here. My Life Drawing class requires I make weekly posts about what I am doing in class so I will try to be good about it.
